Murray wedding useful distraction from Djokovic curse

4821929803_dea25e2393_oAndy Murray has admitted his wedding to long-term partner Kim Sears makes a change from constantly losing to friend and rival Novak Djokovic on the court.

The world number three has lost to the Serbian in their last seven meetings, including the Miami and Australian Opens.

“It’s nice to do something other than lose to Novak,” said Murray. “That’s all I’ve really done for the last year and a half and I’m getting a little tired of it. I’ve enjoyed letting my hair down, so to speak and not think about him for once.

“Was he invited to the wedding? I’m ashamed to say he was not. Knowing my luck recently, I’d probably lose Kim to him as well! I do seem to have a bit of a curse around him at the moment.”

Murray’s last victory over Djokovic came in the Wimbledon final in 2013. The Scot is hoping to break this losing streak as quickly as possible.

“I’ve identified my weaknesses and will address them in our next meeting,” he said. “For example, I’ve been told I spend too long complaining during matches. I’m going to try and channel that energy into my swings and hopefully my game will improve.”
